My personal talent showcase for the majority of my time as an in-house user interface artist, Allegiance was as ambitious as much as it was ornate. Many artists want to stick out from an ever-swelling crowd, so some flex their creative muscle and make bespoke solutions for themselves. When I signed my very first contract to work at Midway Games for my very first job as a game dev, I knew my portfolio had to elevate its game too — in a literal sense. I wanted the conceit of the website to be a homage to all the great games that had inspired me (and in who’s hallowed halls I now belonged). Thus, the great galactic conflict that spanned the stars, Allegiance, was born.

The detail on this website is monstrous, almost to the point of comedy. Ships can have 1 of 10 different components repaired by a repair drone in the background. Various ships dock with the capital ship if you leave the screen on long enough. The About section has 8 randomly selected greetings to meet you with. When it came to my personal work, I wanted to go big.
