SORA 2 EARLY ACCESS EXPERIMENTS – PORTRAIT

▫️Project: Stress test Sora 2 while it is under Early Access and Invite Only.

▫️Experiment: How comprehensively does Sora 2 generate a commercially viable scene from a single sentence prompt.

▫️Tools: Sora 2 (Text to Video), DaVinci (editing). 

▫️Vision: Create a reel of visually and emotionally diverse scenes that evaluate the platform’s ability to act as a full-stop production house. 60 second video, with six 10-second clips. Portrait Formatting only (landscape is another experiment).

▫️Expectations: Sora 2 debuted on the 1st of October 2025 and saying it took the internet by storm is an insult to tempests. OpenAi took the “All Gas, No Brakes” approach to legality and morality and gleefully permitted insane uses of Intellectual Properties and Likenesses – creating instant controversy and viral marketability. Beyond intrigued, I put myself on the waiting list and… I guess they took one look at my ChatGPT history and thought, “This dude is a Freak!” because I was fast-tracked in. I expected, quite simply, great things from the platform.   

▫️What actually happened: Using Sora 2 is one of the very few times (2… including this one!) where I felt vaguely “icky” about Ai. Not because it was a bad experience to use, quite the contrary, it’s my newest favorite toy in spite of its 30 gen limit. No, Sora 2 gave me a vision into a future where, after a few more years (if that), *everything* changes. Sora 2 takes a single sentence prompt and can make a full-fledged scene, animatic or commercial. Granted, those artefacts need extensive polish – but nowhere near as much as you would expect. This isn’t a soft-launch, it’s a warning shot… or a starter gun, take your pick. 

▫️What I didn’t expect: The audio design! Veo3 and Kling add audio and it’s… middling on the best of days. Sora 2 is extraordinary by comparison. Voice acting doesn’t just have inflection, there’s hitches, false-starts, sudden spikes in intensity. Music, while an audio engineer’s hell in terms of clarity, is still tonally appropriate for the scene, and can sometimes even parallel the action. Sora 2 also has the best context-sensitive awareness I’ve ever seen in an Ai besides maybe Google’s Nano Banana. It doesn’t just make scenes, it makes them comprehensively and completely. 

▫️Results: I say this alot to my Ai Mentees, but Sora 2 makes it official: if you are not riding the cresting wave of this Tech, you will be utterly crushed by it. Full stop. This quick experiment has utterly convinced me to re-reinvest back into teaching Ai. 

🔴If You’re Anti Ai: Sora 2 is in Early Access with a waiting list, so you have time before it proliferates. Its enterprise use won’t be available for some time, so you can make your case that integrating it into any pipeline is premature. It’s also too short in its output right now to make a judgement call on day-to-day operations, so that’s another point for you to bring up. Finally, Sora 2 is pretty draconian in what you can generate, so you can still market yourself as much more accommodating than their “guardrails”.

🔵If You’re Pro Ai: Even at it’s most impressive, Sora 2 practical usage still requires polish and tweaking (see the font legibility in that C3PO ad). . Get on the Waiting List today. Now. Like all Text-to-Video platforms, you’ll get some wasted generations, but Sora 2 is now the de-facto best video generator in the world. The fidelity, the speed, the auditory extras, the encircling context – nobody else even comes close to this. If you’re stuck on the waiting list or can’t get codes, definitely read up on what it’s capable of and what shenanigans social media is making with it. Sora 2 will open up for all eventually.
